PROVIDENCE CENTER APPOINTS MARY-ELLEN BENOIT TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES
PROVIDENCE, RI (June 23, 2009) – The Providence Center, a community-based, outpatient behavioral health organization, announces the appointment of Mary-Ellen Benoit to its Board of Trustees. Benoit serves on the Board’s Patient Care Committee where she advocates for people with mental illness.
Benoit is a published freelance writer, photographer and award-winning quilter. Her volunteer community services include participating in the annual American Cancer Society Walk for Life fundraiser in Franklin, MA and The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life at WaterFire held in Providence, RI.
Benoit holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in creative writing and late Victorian literature from the University of Rhode Island. She resides in Lincoln, RI.
