Jim Gillen   

The Providence Center was selected to serve as a planning partner for the 2010 National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month presented by the SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. Jim Gillen, clinical coordinator of recovery services at The Providence Center, will represent the organization at five planning meetings to be held in Washington, D.C., culminating in the national kick-off of Recovery Month on September 9, 2010.

     
Doctor James Greer  

Dr. James Greer has been Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Brown University for 23 years. In 1999, he received the Nancy Roeske Award for Excellence in Teaching from the American Psychiatric Association for his work at Brown and in 2001, the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Association for the Mentally Ill for his advocacy efforts on behalf of the mentally ill.

     

President/CEO Dale K. Klatzker, Ph.D.

 

President/CEO Dale K. Klatzker, Ph.D., was selected to the 2010 Rhode Island Foundation Fellows Program. A program of the Institute for Nonprofit Excellence, the Fellows Program provides research and development support for executive directors to explore new initiatives for their organizations.

In May 2010, Klatzker was recognized for his support of recovery by the Rhode Island Communities for Addiction Recovery, who honored him with the Advocate of the Year Award.

 

     
Doctor Mickey Silver  

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mickey Silver was featured on WRNI, Rhode Island’s National Public Radio station on July 1, 2008. Dr. Silver spoke about The Providence Center’s relationship with the Providence Police Department and the ways that The Providence Center is educating the police about people that have mental illnesses.
