The Providence Center Inducts Seven New Members into the Charles E. Maynard Society

December 6, 2010 (Providence, RI) The Providence Center is pleased to welcome seven new members into the Charles E. Maynard Society. The Society, named for The Providence Center’s founder and president/CEO for more than three decades, Charles E. Maynard, honors community members who have made a significant contribution to The Providence Center.
New members include: Bob and Ann Wood, David and Anne Campbell, Beacon Health Strategies, Neighborhood Health Plan of RI, Billy Andrade - Brad Faxon Charities for Children, Rob and Mindy Sherwin, and Clint and Janet Wynne, owners of Security Concepts, Inc.

“The Charles E. Maynard Society is an opportunity to say thank you,” said Dale K. Klatzker, current President/CEO of The Providence Center. “We thank the people who share our passion for exceptional behavioral healthcare and help make the work we do a reality.”
At a ceremony held at the Rhode Island Country Club, new members were honored and thanked for their generosity and dedication to The Providence Center's mission and the more than 10,000 people served each year through Providence Center programs. RI Speaker of the House Gordon Fox welcomed members and discussed the importance of behavioral healthcare in Rhode Island.

The people served by The Providence Center are some of the most vulnerable in our society and The Providence Center provides them with real, lasting help," said Bob Wood, a new member. "I am honored to join a group of people dedicated to supporting such a worthy organization."
The Providence Center is at the forefront of innovative approaches to behavioral healthcare designed to meet the changing needs of the more than 10,000 people served each year. Since The Providence Center opened its doors in 1969, it has been a community fixture providing people from all walks of life with mental health and substance abuse services in their homes, schools and neighborhoods. In addition to coprehensive high-quality behavioral health services, The Providence Center gives people the tools they need to succeed. Through 39 programs and wraparound services, including food and housing, job training, legal services, primary healthcare and wellness activities, The Providence Center helps the people it serves to succeed.
