Specialized Adolescent Services
Independent Living Program

This teen independent living program supports troubled teenagers in the custody of the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) ages 17-21. These troubled teens, some of whom may be returning from training schools, out-of-state placements, or hospital stays, work with case managers as they develop the skills they'll need in adulthood.

Teens live in their own apartments and receive intensive case management. Vocational, educational support and participation in clinical programs are integral to this program. Staff work flexible hours to provide day, evening, and weekend coverage and activities. Teen moms with their children may participate in this program. Coordination with the Early Childhod Program enhances these services.
