PROVIDENCE CENTER HONORED
WITH TWO NATIONAL AWARDS FOR MARKETING EXCELLENCE

PROVIDENCE, RI (May 24, 2007) – The Providence Center, a community-based, outpatient behavioral health organization, was recently named as a Gold and Silver Award Winner in the 2007 Aster Awards Program. This national-level awards program recognizes excellence in medical marketing for healthcare institutions and advertising agencies.

The Providence Center was honored for producing world-class marketing materials with a Gold Aster Award for its Annual Calendar and a Silver Aster Award for its Annual Report. Both winning entries featured client artwork from The Providence Center’s Arts & Healing program where men and women are encouraged to express their feelings through art, poetry and music. Out of 3,000 entries, The Center placed in the top 5% for both entries.

“It is an honor to have been recognized by the Aster Awards Program,” said Dale K. Klatzker, president and CEO of The Providence Center. “It is wonderful to have our staff’s hard work and creativity acknowledged as being among the best in the nation. These awards recognize our continued commitment to meeting the challenge of producing compelling and innovative marketing communication materials.”

The Aster Awards is the fastest growing healthcare awards program in the nation. Entries were judged by a prestigious panel of individuals, who are experts in the field of healthcare marketing. Winners are posted on the official program web site (www. asterawards.com), and honored in the May/June issue of Marketing Healthcare Today magazine.

The Providence Center annually serves over 10,000 adults, children, and adolescents who struggle with mental illness, addiction and emotional problems. Since its establishment in 1969, The Providence Center has been part of Rhode Island’s exemplary behavioral healthcare system, offering a comprehensive array of treatment and rehabilitation services.
