PROVIDENCE CENTER SCHOOL HONORS CLASS OF 2007

PROVIDENCE, RI (July 17, 2007) – At a commencement ceremony on Wednesday, June 27th, eight students marked their graduation from The Providence Center School. The Providence Center School is fully licensed by the Department of Education and serves emotionally/ behaviorally disabled children and teens (grades K-12) who have been referred for special needs education by school systems throughout the state.

More than 150 family, friends and school staff attended the ceremony which recognized the students for successfully completing The Providence Center School’s program where their unique academic, social, therapeutic, and mental health needs were met.

In addition to obtaining a certificate of completion from The Providence Center School, each student also received a diploma from their home school districts. This year’s class represents three students from Providence, four students from Pawtucket and one from East Providence.

Dale K. Klatzker, president/CEO of The Providence Center joined School Principal Marty Morris and senior class teacher, Heather Horton in praising the graduates for their tenacity and will to succeed. A father of one of the students and a sister of another each spoke of their pride in witnessing the many achievements their family member had experienced at The Providence Center School. Following the graduation family members and friends joined the high school students and staff at a luncheon reception in the graduates honor.

The Providence Center annually serves over 10,000 adults, children, and adolescents who struggle with mental illness, addiction and emotional problems. Since its establishment in 1969, The Providence Center has been part of Rhode Island’s exemplary behavioral healthcare system, offering a comprehensive array of treatment and rehabilitation services.
