Evening Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program

This intensive outpatient treatment program (IOP)is offered to men and women whose substance abuse treatment needs go beyond traditional outpatient counseling. This program allows uninsured or undeinsured clients to receive addiction treatment services while living at home and continuing to work.

This program is unique in how it integrates alternative treatments with more traditional substance abuse treatments. Three times a week, three hours a night, men and women in the IOP gather at The Providence Center to work on everything from relapse prevention, stress reduction, skills building, and self-esteem with counselors who are specially trained in holistic therapy.

Expressive arts therapy is an integral part of this IOP, incorporating therapeutic journal writing, role playing, and drawing into the treatment program

The Providence Center, located in Providence, Rhode Island, is a participant in various major health insurance plans, including state-sponsored plans.
