On Wednesday December 20th, the Anchor Learning Academy (ALA) and TPC School High School students went to the Parkview Nursing Home in Providence to provide the residents there with some Holiday Cheer! We caroled throughout the whole facility and were welcomed by all the staff and residents. There were some residents who rarely see anyone, let alone a whole group of youngsters, but they seemed to love our renditions of “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and “Feliz Navidad!” Some of us who knew the words even sang the Frozen theme song “Let it Go!” This was an amazing opportunity for the students to engage in an immeasurable piece to their Recovery, “Giving Back”, and they all did it with eagerness and authenticity!
After Parkview everyone in the van wanted to continue on tour spreading the holiday spirit to the lonely folks throughout the city, but we realized we hadn’t planned any other visits. So we decided to hopefully make this an annual tradition!
