The Providence Center provides behavioral health programming on location at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institute (ACI).

Our Addiction Treatment & Recovery Services program helps inmates learn new skills and behaviors that support their recovery from substance abuse and helps them to avoid future criminal behavior. Services are designed reduce recidivism and relapse, and provide the supports offenders need to make lasting changes in their lives.

Our Criminal Justice Services Include

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) provides group and individual treatment to assist people with learning healthy coping skills and how to effectively regulate their emotions.

Intensive Reintegration Program

Our Intensive Reintegration Program provides mental health treatment to offenders in the ACI’s high security facility with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) who typically incur multiple disciplinary infractions, often for aggressive behavior. The program offers both group and individual treatment and utilizes an evidenced-based curriculum called Start Now, which incorporates techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Substance Abuse Testing & Treatment

Substance Abuse Testing & Treatment is located at 530 North Main St and provides toxicology screens and treatment to address substance use disorders and criminal thinking for parolees.

Mental Health Assessments

TPC per diem licensed clinicians also provide mental health assessments for offenders at the ACI that have upcoming parole hearings.
