Patricia A. Serpa, D-West Warwick and Sen. Joshua Miller, D-Cranston. Recovery coaches--peers who have lived experience in recovery from mental health and addiction issues--have become critical components in The Providence Center's recovery support services. Coaches are deployed to the emergency rooms of local hospitals as a part of [AnchorED](https://providencecenter.org/services/crisis-emergency-care/anchored), a program created in response to high numbers of opiate overdose deaths in Rhode Island.
